Small Manufacturers Off Sales At Trade Shows
AGLC has amended policy to allow small liquor manufacturers with a Class D off sales licence to sell their products at Alberta-based trade shows.
This amendment provides opportunities for small liquor manufacturers to gain important exposure to Albertans in showcasing Alberta-made liquor products at trade shows such as agricultural fairs, home and garden shows or other events that meet the following criteria:
the trade show features businesses in a particular industry promoting their products and services;
the trade show is held at a public facility (e.g. convention or exhibition centre); and/or
the trade show is a ticketed event.
To ensure minors will not be served and to prevent overconsumption from patrons, small liquor manufacturers selling their products at trade shows will be required to have mandatory ProServe Liquor Staff training.
These policy amendments reflect AGLC’s ongoing commitment to ensure a regulatory environment that balances responsible consumption, consumer choice, innovation and economic growth.
The amended policy can be accessed at aglc.ca. Additional information regarding AGLC’s commitment to a modern regulatory environment that supports consumer choice, innovation and economic growth can be found on AGLC’s website at aglc.ca/modernization.
Please familiarize yourself with the amended policy and ensure all affected staff are notified of these changes.
