ALSA Attends the Grande Prairie Regional EMS Foundation Fundraiser

Grande Prairie has one of the best Wine Fair and Auction fundraisers in Alberta. I had heard so many accolades regarding the event; I thought ALSA needed to be there also. The event is designed to raise much needed money for the Emergency Medical Service. The region covered is extensive and the work done is life saving. This year, a wine tasting with twenty three agencies was on in the afternoon. It was well heeled and well attended. Every local store selling wine should be at this event! There were wines from easy, crowd pleasing reds and whites, to bold, big wines. Over one hundred wines were open for sampling. There was delicious food to nibble as you made your way around the room.

The evening event was a Gala Dinner and live auction. The tablescapes were gorgeous having black, silver and fresh flower details. The food was thoughtfully prepared with wines to match every course. Every table was hosted by a wine agent pouring their own wines. I hosted a table and kept everybody on task with tasting and learning about wines. I enjoyed my ALSA Sommelier duties pouring Mission Hill wines sent by Mark Anthony Agency. Director of Operations, Heidi Simmons was my co host. She looked dazzling in a black cocktail dress. Heidi and the EMS employees work very hard to provide services for the region. This night was for fun and fundraising. Both were achieved. I look forward to next year’s event!
